TEXTURED FLORALS

My floral paintings are heavily influenced by the work of Georgia O’Keefe whose paintings articulately expressed the “personality” of a single bloom. Her paintings, like portraits, seemed to tell a life-story.

The aging bloom, having lost some or all of its petals, is often featured in my work  I find these seemingly imperfect blooms to be the most compelling. They are the ones that hold my attention and tell a story.
